Job summary

FM Conway, a leading infrastructure services business, seeks a Senior Contract Manager to own street lighting, highway electrical and digital urban solutions contracts. You will lead multiple project teams, manage client relationships and drive profitability and safety across a high‑value portfolio.

You will mentor Contract Managers and frontline leaders, ensuring on‑time, on‑budget delivery while promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the division.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering contracts in street lighting, highway electrical, utilities or infrastructure.
• Strong budgets, forecasting and contract profitability responsibility.
• Proven leadership of operational teams and high-performing staff.
• Excellent stakeholder and client management capabilities.
• Solid health, safety, quality and compliance knowledge.
• Experience in public sector infrastructure and street lighting projects.
• Full UK driving licence and recognised site qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead the successful delivery of multiple street lighting, highway electrical and smart technology contracts.
• Develop Contract Managers, Senior Supervisors and Scheme Managers; foster high performance.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
• Drive contractual performance and exceed client expectations.
• Oversee programme planning, resource optimisation and subcontractor management.
• Lead financial forecasting, cost control and profitability initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with industry standards and health & safety requirements.
• Build strong client, stakeholder and supply chain relationships.
• Support business development and identify growth opportunities representing the company.

Are you an experienced Contract Manager ready to take ownership of high-profile street lighting and smart technology contracts?

As Senior Contracts Manager, you'll work closely with the Head of Operations and senior leadership team, taking responsibility for a portfolio of street lighting, highway electrical and smart technology projects.

You’ll be leading and developing operational teams, building strong client partnerships, delivering successful contract outcomes and helping shape the future growth of the division.

The role and responsibilities:

As a Senior Contract Manager, you will play a vital role in delivering complex highway electrical and digital urban solutions projects. You will be commercially minded, able to inspire teams, build strong client relationships and deliver operational excellence across multiple contracts.

• Leading the successful delivery of multiple street lighting, highway electrical and smart technology contracts.
• Manage and develop Contract Managers, Senior Supervisors and Scheme Managers, promoting a high-performance culture and leading by example.
• Ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and within budget.
• Driving contractual performance and exceeding client expectations.
• Overseeing programme planning, resource optimisation and subcontractor management.
• Leading financial forecasting, cost control and profitability initiatives.
• Maintaining compliance with industry standards, accreditations and health & safety requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and supply chain partners.
• Contributing to business development activities and identifying opportunities for growth by representing the business in the industry and promoting our services.

As our Senior Contract Manager, you will have:

• Proven experience managing contracts within street lighting, highway electrical, utilities or infrastructure environments.
• Strong commercial awareness with responsibility for budgets, forecasting and contract profitability.
• A track record of leading operational teams and developing high-performing people.
• Excellent stakeholder and client management skills.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, quality and compliance processes.
• Experience within public sector infrastructure contracts and street lighting projects.
• The ability to thrive in fast-paced operational environments whilst maintaining exceptional standards.
• A full UK Driving Licence, CSCS card, SMSTS and G39 qualifications are essential for this role.
