Our client is a leading interior fit-out specialist in Essex, offering the complete design, supply, and installation of passive fire protection systems in commercial properties. They are looking to strengthen their operations team with a high-caliber Contracts Manager based in Central London.
The company handles a portfolio of commercial office contracts ranging from £100k to £1m. The Contracts Manager will have excellent communication and management skills to coordinate input from various departments, maximize efficiency, and add value to projects. Full familiarity with cost management, planning activities safely, and direct responsibility for on-site activities is required. The role involves implementing business management system procedures and maintaining a professional approach across all project aspects.
Key responsibilities include taking full operational control of major fire protection projects from award to final handover, covering design, procurement, and fit-out phases. The candidate must understand contract documents, interpret drawings, develop method statements and programmes, and handle reporting, record keeping, and project reviews.
Required attributes and experience include 10 years of construction site experience, with at least 5 years in managerial roles, proven experience in bespoke interior and refurbishment projects, ideally HND or Degree in construction or engineering, SMSTS, CSCS Managers card, and a relevant First Aid certificate. Computer literacy, programming, planning experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently are essential. The candidate must demonstrate professionalism, resilience, motivation, and leadership to drive project success and uphold company commitments.
