Ionic Recruitment are currently looking for a Contracts Manager on behalf of our client.

Introduction:
Our client, a long-established and well-regarded regional contractor, is seeking a Contracts Manager to oversee the delivery of multiple projects across the Midlands region. This permanent position is based out of Birmingham and will see the successful candidate managing a diverse portfolio of new build, refurbishment, and fit-out schemes within the residential, education, and public sectors. The business is known for its commitment to quality, collaborative working, and long-term client relationships.

Salary: 60,000 per annum
Location: Birmingham-based, covering Midlands region.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage the end-to-end delivery of construction projects from pre-construction through to handover.

• Lead and support operational teams including Site Managers and project staff.

• Oversee the execution of projects across a variety of sectors including education, residential, and public sector works.

• Maintain excellent client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for all project-related matters.

• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required safety and quality standards.

• Attend regular site and client meetings, providing accurate progress updates.

• Coordinate design, procurement, and commercial teams to ensure smooth project flow.

• Uphold compliance with health and safety legislation and internal procedures.

• Lead on programme management, risk mitigation, and performance reporting.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Contracts Manager in the Midlands construction market.

• A background in managing both new build and refurbishment schemes, ideally across public sector, residential, and education settings.

• Strong commercial awareness and contract knowledge (JCT/NEC).

• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

• SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Platinum), and First Aid certification required.

• Full UK driving licence essential.

• Competent with Microsoft Project and standard MS Office tools.

• Qualification in Construction Management or similar is preferred.
