Contracts Manager

Job Description

Blue Arrow Derby are proud to be working in partnership with the leading specialist steel fabricator in the East Midlands and they are looking to recruit a Contracts Manager to join their team on a full time, permanent basis.

CANDIDATE MUST HAVE STRUCTURAL STEEL/FABRICATION EXPERIENCE.

Hours: Monday - Thursday 8am-5pm & Friday 8am-3:30pm

Salary: £50,000 PLUS DOE

What will you be doing in the Contracts Manager role:

1. Managing all elements of multiple projects including attending pre-start meetings and surveys.
2. Direction on design in conjunction with structural engineers calculations, supervision of draughtsmen.
3. Resourcing materials for manufacture within costed budgets.
4. Planning fabrication and site installation resources in conjunction with other managers.
5. Writing of Method Statement and Risk Assessments.
6. Managing/directing site labour to achieve snag free installations within required project timelines.
7. Preparation of monthly applications and input into final account agreements in conjunction with the Directors of the business.

A 'can do' mentality and the ability to self-manage are imperative to your success in this role.

Previous experience and requirements:

1. The successful candidate must be prepared to work flexible hours managing multiple contracts to customer deadlines and be prepared to travel nationwide as necessary.
2. Good basic IT skills are essential to the role, such as Word/Excel/Outlook.
3. Familiarisation with web-based Document Control portals such as Aconex/ProCore/BC etc is also desirable.
4. Knowledge of BS EN 1090 requirements for Exec 2 & 3 would be expected.
