Job description

A Contracts Engineer is required for a 3-to-6-month assignment with a company specialising in FPSO solutions and mooring systems for the offshore oil and gas sector. The role will support the full contract lifecycle, with responsibility for preparing, negotiating, and administering contracts to ensure timely and commercially effective outcomes. The position is based in Portlethen and offers hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 days remote).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing tender documentation across disciplines, including bidder lists and tailored terms and conditions to meet specific project requirements.
  • Coordinating and conducting commercial and contractual evaluations, supporting technical evaluations, and finalising terms for contract awards.
  • Organising and leading clarification and kick off meetings, liaising with internal stakeholders to secure approvals.
  • Administering issued contracts, including preparation of amendments, addenda, and monitoring of contract variations.
  • Leading contract reviews, recording accurate minutes, and ensuring timely closure of agreed actions.
  • Providing documentation for tender boards and contribute to contract strategy execution.

About You:

  • Degree qualified in Business Management, Law, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in contracts roles within offshore oil, gas, or renewable energy sectors.
  • Strong understanding of full cycle subcontracting and commercial contract processes.
  • Experience in supplier performance management and handling NCRs (non-conformance reports) preferred.
  • Organised, commercially minded, and confident working across technical and commercial teams.
