Job description

About the role

Management of Pre-Cast Driven and Specialist Piling schemes of various sizes. Responsible for the efficient running of contracts on site, including contract performance, safety, progress monitoring/reporting, client liaison, staff allocation and supervision. Aim to achieve excellence in safety, quality, sustainability, and efficiency, ensuring alignment with the Balfour Beatty Business Management System.

What you'll be doing

  1. Managing internal resources and subcontractors.
  2. Ensuring works are constructed per contract, design info, drawings, specifications, and Project Management Plan.
  3. Producing and reviewing construction methods statements for efficiency and safety.
  4. Preparing site documentation such as PMP, PVPMP, ITP, Construction Phase Management Plan, etc.
  5. Developing and adhering to programmes, measuring progress and productivity.
  6. Applying procedures from the project Health, Safety, and Environmental plans and promoting a safe working culture.
  7. Ensuring works comply with health, safety, and environmental legislation and site HS&E plans; preparing and reviewing risk assessments.
  8. Supporting behavioural safety initiatives on site.
  9. Monitoring progress, reporting, and achieving work goals.
  10. Anticipating and resolving engineering-related problems.
  11. Managing construction records, O&M manuals, and as-built drawings.
  12. Supporting strategies like Customer Focus, Construction Excellence, and Innovation.
  13. Participating in client and pre-contract meetings.
  14. Living the Balfour Beatty Values.
  15. Focusing on Zero Harm.
  16. Supporting UKCK’s Sustainability activities.
Who we're looking for

  • Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent (preferable).
  • Experience in delivering piling projects of various scales.
  • Experience with infrastructure schemes and large developments.
  • Technical knowledge of piling.
  • Ability to manage multiple teams and schemes efficiently.
  • Competence in managing health and safety, including behavioural safety.
  • Leadership, communication, and influencing skills to meet targets.
