We are looking for a qualified Solicitor with substantial experience in this area of law and practice. This role offers an opportunity to develop and enhance your skills through varied and quality work.
You will work as part of a team of Contract Lawyers, providing proactive legal advice on issues such as Public Contract Regulations, Company law, Subsidy Control, NEC and JCT construction Contracts, among others. You will manage a demanding and diverse caseload.
Senior Lawyers are expected to participate actively in team management and may deputise for the Principal Solicitor. You should be an effective, dynamic individual with some experience in managing and supervising teams, capable of motivating others.
Shortlisting Criteria:
The role is hybrid, with remote work considered. Occasional office attendance may be required, including collecting equipment from our Reigate office on the first day.
You will assist in managing a team of lawyers, providing leadership, supervision, and expert legal advice to the County Council, its members, officers, and committees. The role involves managing a full caseload, delivering innovative solutions, and supporting the council's goal to reduce reliance on external legal support.
You may be required to undertake or manage advocacy and support the Monitoring Officer in legal matters. Additionally, you will contribute to staff training to keep the team updated on legal developments.
