We are looking for a qualified Solicitor with substantial experience in this area of law and practice. This role offers an opportunity to develop and enhance your skills through diverse and quality work.
You will work as part of a team of Contract Lawyers to provide proactive legal advice on issues including Public Contract Regulations, Company law, Subsidy Control, NEC and JCT construction Contracts, and other contract queries. You will manage a varied and demanding caseload.
Senior Lawyers are expected to participate actively in team management, deputise for the Principal Solicitor, and contribute to delivering high-quality legal services.

The role is hybrid, with remote work considered. Occasional office attendance may be required, and the candidate will need to collect their laptop from our Reigate office on the first day.
The role involves managing a team of lawyers, providing leadership, supervision, and expert legal advice to the County Council, its members, officers, and committees. It also contributes to the wider management of Legal Services and embodies the council's values.
You will manage a full caseload, deliver innovative solutions with minimal supervision, and support the council's goal to reduce reliance on external legal support. Advocacy duties may be required.
The role supports the Monitoring Officer in advising on illegality or procedural issues and involves staff training to keep updated with legal developments.
