CONTRACTS ADVISOR - OPERATIONS & BUSINESS SUPPORT
Our client, an Oil and Gas Operator, is seeking an experienced Contracts Advisor to oversee the operations and business support categories. This is an initial 12-month PAYE contract role, with a schedule of 4 days in the office and 1 day remote work.
Scope/Overall Purpose of Job:
This Contracts Advisor will be responsible for managing and administering a portfolio of contracts within the Operations & Business Support category, including:
- Health, Safety, and Environment (onshore and offshore)
- Production Chemistry and Laboratory Services
- Onshore and Offshore Facilities Management
- Fabric Maintenance
- Integrity, Inspection, and Fabrication Services
- Medical Services (onshore and offshore)
- Offshore Geologists and Exploration Support
- Third Party Procurement Services
- Verification Services
- Logistics - Marine & Aviation
- Technology & Innovation
- Human Resources
- Contingent Labour
Key Responsibilities:
- Contract progress verification, change management, claims mitigation, invoice verification, and closeout
- Preparation and administration of minor third-party contracts
- Ensuring compliance with all contracting processes and requirements
- Developing and implementing post-award contractor relationship and performance management
- Contract administration to ensure compliance
- Coordination with Legal and other SMEs for contracting support
- Supply chain management for tenders, including RFP preparation, evaluation, negotiations, and award
- Management of SAP/eProcurement records
- Representing the business at monthly Tender Board Meetings
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Contracts Advisor in similar scopes, preferably within the UKCS
- Experience managing multiple contracts of varying complexity
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high activity volume
- Strong knowledge of SCM systems, contract drafting, legal requirements, and risk assessment
- Effective interfacing with internal and external stakeholders
- Understanding of end-to-end contracting processes
- Proven negotiation skills and business acumen
- Proficiency in SAP, e-Procurement systems, and Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical teams
Qualifications/Competencies:
- Degree in a relevant commercial discipline (e.g., Quantity Surveying, Business Management, Law) preferred
