Job summary

South Yorkshire Police in Carbrook, Sheffield, are seeking a Contracts Administrator on a 12-month temporary basis. The role supports the Contracts Management Unit within Estates and Facilities Management, handling clerical tasks and information systems.

You will maintain contract-related databases, manage day-to-day issues, and assist the Contracts Manager with Vehicle Recovery, Boarding Up, and Dangerous Dogs contracts.

Qualifications

  • Experience handling face-to-face enquiries from the public.
  • Experience using Word and Excel.
  • Previous clerical experience.
  • Experience using web-based information systems.
  • Possession of a Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain database information related to Vehicle Recovery, Boarding Up and Dangerous Dogs.
  • Monitor and action day-to-day issues for these contracts.
  • Assist the Contracts Manager with management of relevant contracts.
  • Provide clerical support to the Facilities Management Department.
  • Handle general correspondence with external organisations and police staff.
  • Maintain filing systems and process old/out-of-date files.
  • Process incoming/outgoing mail regarding contracts and provide information to end users.

Role: Contracts Administrator

Department: Estates and Facilities Management

Location: Carbrook, Sheffield

Salary: £28,914 - £31,749

Hours: 37

Contract Type: Temporary for 12 months

In this role you will provide clerical support and management information to the Contract Management Unit within the Facilities Management Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • To maintain database information on Vehicle Recovery, Boarding Up and Dangerous Dogs.
  • To monitor and action day to day issues in relation to Vehicle Recovery, Boarding Up and Dangerous Dogs.
  • Assist the Contracts Manager with the management of Vehicle Recovery, Boarding Up and Dangerous Dog contract.
  • Clerical support to the Facilities Management Department
  • General correspondence with outside organisations, and member of South Yorkshire Police
  • Maintenance of filing systems, including completion of old files and destruction of out-of-date files.
  • Dealing with incoming and outgoing mail regarding the above contracts to the Department
  • Supply of general information to end users and the organisation
Skills And Experience
  • Experience of dealing with face-to-face enquiries from members of the public.
  • Experience of using computer packages including Word and Excel.
  • Previous Clerical experience.
  • Experience of using web-based information systems.
  • Possession of a relevant Level 3 qualification or suitable experience in a similar role.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
