CSO (Contractor Supervising Officer)

Location: Raynesway Derby

Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

What this job involves:

  1. Ensuring all subcontractor works are managed safely and in accordance with client control processes.
  2. Acting as a liaison between subcontractors, JLL, and clients to ensure effective communication before, during, and after works.
  3. Being an appointed person for specific disciplines based on experience and competency (training provided if needed).

What your day-to-day will look like:

  1. Collaborating with subcontractors to ensure safe delivery of works.
  2. Reviewing RAMS and addressing any gaps.
  3. Ensuring works comply with contractor RAMS.
  4. Conducting on-site audits to ensure contractor compliance.
  5. Completing subcontractor work packs and obtaining necessary signatures.
  6. Ensuring adherence to site processes, including sign-in/out procedures.
  7. Archiving completed work packs for audits.
  8. Accurately completing work-related documentation on time.
  9. Following company policies and procedures.
  10. Carrying out work safely and diligently.
  11. Participating in training, including Hot Works and Excavation courses.
  12. Writing and closing permits for activities like working at height or hot works.
  13. Performing additional duties as required.

Person Specification

  1. Excellent customer communication skills, both written and verbal.
  2. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate across all levels.
  3. Confidence to challenge when necessary.
  4. Ability to work under pressure and multitask.
  5. Understanding and acting on instructions and procedures.
  6. Proficiency in computer and IT skills.
  7. Strong administrative skills.
  8. Ability to work independently.
  9. IOSH Managing Safety training (provided by JLL).
  10. Desired but not essential: SSSTS or SMSTS certification.
