Endeavour Recruitment has a number of fantastic contract opportunities for UNIX Engineers across the UK. Locations include Derby, Nottingham and Newcastle. Initially 6 month contracts, these are likely to be extended and the rate available is up to £330 per day depending on experience.

The ideal UNIX Engineer will be experienced in at least one mainstream UNIX/LINUX operating system; Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, SUSE or RedHat. As an experienced engineer you may have design experience, or seeking the opportunity to develop your design experience.

Experience will include a solid mix of;

• At least 3 years’ experience of using, building and maintaining Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, SUSE or RedHat
• RDBMS (Oracle)
• Application Server (Apache, JBoss, TomCat, WebLogic)
• Networking fundamentals (Firewalls, Routers, TCP/IP, Load Balancers)
• High Availability and Clustering
• UNIX/LINIX Scripting
• Veritas Volume Manager and File System Management
• Virtualisation technologies (e.g. VMWare, Hyper-V, P2V, P2P, PlateSpin, DoubleTake, Grid, LPARS, WPARS, aPARS)

SC Clearance will be required. Ideally you will be SC Cleared, my client may consider those eligible for clearance.
