Contract Supervisor – University of Portsmouth

FULL TIME – 40 HOURS

Job Summary
This role involves supporting the Contract Manager in delivering the day-to-day service of the University of Portsmouth Mechanical and Electrical maintenance contract.
The Contract Supervisor will be responsible for managing a team of multi-trade engineers and specialist sub-contractors to ensure the completion of cyclic and reactive tasks.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Financial: Assist with the daily delivery, implementation and on-going development of each of the contracts
  • Health & Safety: Review & submit all RAMS to client as part of the quotation submission for in-house disciplines, Carry out Health & Safety & Quality audits on Specialist Subcontractors, Working with H S Manager to resolve any issues, Conduct TBT for all line reports, Ongoing site monitoring of H&S compliance which includes inspections and compliance checks
  • HR: HR line management activities of any direct engineers
  • Operational: Deputise for Contract Manager during periods of absence, Provide technical and practical support to engineers, Carry out site visits as required, look at works with a view to estimating time and materials, Quoting works; giving detailed breakdowns while defining exclusions and limitations of quotes to clients, Ensure labour resources are planned for the works and coordinated, Help develop realistic working programmes, Carry out daily checks on labour resourcing to ensure smooth running of jobs and minimal waste of labour time onsite, Check documentation / paperwork has been submitted and completed correctly, Work with contract administrators to review and resolve jobs that have been put on hold – liaise with subcontractors, TSMs and clients to progress, Maintain a safe working environment for engineers, end users on site and general public at all times, First escalation for clients OOH call outs, Provide additional onsite support where required, Any adhoc duties as required to fulfil the requirements of the role
