Job description

What will I be doing?

Reporting to the Assistant Contract Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, working closely with other members of the management team. Some weekend work may be involved.

You will:

  • Monitor refuse and recycling collection crews and carry out inspections accordingly.
  • Ensure fleet compliance and uphold high health and safety standards.
  • Handle various daily tasks including managing timesheets, staff levels within budget, briefing staff on roles and responsibilities, issuing toolbox talks, and conducting inductions.

What are the requirements?

  • Demonstrate good working practices and sound decision-making skills.
  • Experience working with and managing a team, preferably in recycling and waste management.
  • Previous supervisory experience is essential.
  • Experience in a busy logistics operation involving fleet compliance is desirable.
  • Obtain or achieve within 12 months COTC in transfer and treatment of hazardous waste and a CPC in national road haulage.
  • Possess a driving licence, good IT skills, and experience with Microsoft Office.
  • A HGV licence is desirable but not essential.
