Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions in London seeks a Contract Supervisor to lead a multi-disciplinary team on site, ensuring reactive and extra works are delivered on time and to the required standard. You will coordinate direct labour and approved subcontractors and report progress to the Contract Manager.

You will run toolbox talks, manage risk assessments, and liaise with the client and helpdesk while upholding CBRE safety policies and standards.

Contract Supervisor

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Contract Supervisor to join the team located in London.

As Contract Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Provide leadership, supervision and development of team members on the contract’s.
  • Ensure M&E Reactive and extra works jobs are completed on time and to the right quality using direct labour team and approved subcontractors, ensuring multiple stakeholders on the site are kept updated at all times.
  • Provide technical support to all engineers & the leadership team in connection to all reactive works, and assist in coordinating billable/minor works that deliver against time and budget requirements while meeting or exceeding client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure engineers are working productively, completing reactive jobs on site, providing technical support where needed, and organizing and planning engineers to be proactive.
  • Drive the productivity of engineers on site to reduce open jobs to an acceptable standard.
  • Maintain knowledge of open jobs on site and complete high profile jobs within an acceptable time period.
  • Conduct regular meetings with engineers, including toolbox talks, risk assessments and general communication.
  • Call in subcontractors where needed to complete reactive jobs.
  • Review and approve all R&M plans for reactive works, ensuring safe working practices.
  • Audit direct labour and subcontractor works to ensure quality and safety.
  • Raise and follow through permits for high risk activities including hot works, excavation etc.
  • Assist the Contract Manager in completing extra works projects.
  • Work alongside compliance team to run operations.
  • Support other team areas by providing assistance and guidance.
  • Answer the hatch when needed to sign in contractors including giving inductions.
  • Participate in a duty manager rota every 6 weeks, dealing with escalations on site outside working hours.
  • Be available out of hours on occasion to address escalations.
  • Attend city centre venues as required to assist workload.
  • Send out regular updates to multiple stakeholders on job status.
  • Liaise with helpdesk to provide job updates.
  • Travel around site during the day attending jobs and updating stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple jobs concurrently in a professional manner while communicating effectively.
  • Work on the move and multitask.
  • Plan in rota with PPM supervisor to ensure all events and exhibitions are covered in the month.
  • Identify, reduce and manage all risks (technical, statutory, health and safety, commercial or otherwise) associated with reactive operations.
  • Assist contract support and Contract Manager in administering reactive and extra works.
  • Ensure compliance with CBRE policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other CBRE engineers and AP’s on other sites for the development of the contract and company.
  • Work with other supervisors & Contract Manager to ensure appropriate control and monitoring systems (PPM, CM & Reactive works) are used/shared to meet statutory, policy and contractual commitments.
  • Promote and maintain CBRE core values.
  • Deliver effective business communication through advice, review, leadership, and direct contribution to toolbox talks, briefings, correspondence, and ad-hoc reporting.

Accountabilities:

  1. Reporting to CBRE Contract Manager.
  2. Accountability to the CBRE Contract Manager.
  3. Accountable day-to-day to the relevant client contacts and Contract Manager.
  4. Joint financial responsibilities for the delivery of the operational plan.
  5. Accountable for the team of engineers who work within the CBRE contract.
