My client is looking to recruit a very experienced Solutions Architect who will hold a critical position in the design, development, and implementation of innovative IT and business solutions meticulously tailored to fulfil my client’s requirements.
Note: This role necessitates occasional visits to company sites (West Wales as well as mainland Europe) to directly engage with stakeholders, evaluate project demands, and ensure the successful execution of bespoke solutions. Please bear this in mind when applying. It is an important part of this role that you are able to get to West Wales on an occasional basis, for meetings, workshops, etc.
To be considered for this position, candidates MUST have:
- At least one of the following certifications: TOGAF, CISSP, or Azure Certified Solutions Architect.
- A minimum of 5 years experience as a Solutions Architect.
- Experience working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
- Excellent knowledge of current industry architecture standards and approaches.
- Experience working in a highly regulated environment.
- Passion for systems architecture and IT in general.
- Exceptional customer service and delivery focus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (specifically by telephone, email, and messaging).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Competent and organized with the ability to manage and prioritize workload, multi-task, and handle a diverse range of issues, responsibilities, and challenges.
The role will be responsible for:
- Mapping IT and Business applications, network, and mobile architecture structures and their interconnections.
- Development of platforms and applications architecture.
- Revising specific applications architectures as requested, aiding in identifying transition steps and elaborating project plans to address gaps.
- Consulting with internal IT teams to align projects with selected architectures.
- Overall accountability for architecture development, management, and delivery roadmaps.
- Making critical decisions with appropriate documentation to define system direction in terms of implementation, operations, and maintenance, including system validation.
- Ensuring alignment with internal and external compliance frameworks, including but not limited to TOGAF, SOX ITGC, and ISO27001.
- Abstracting system complexity into manageable models that describe the essence of a system by exposing important details and constraints.
- Creating a Systems Architecture Reference List.
- Assessing new applications for suitability.
- Meeting with IT and Business teams to support documentation of business requirements.
- Assessing new or revised platforms according to regulatory and non-regulatory needs.
- Providing detailed information about costs and benefits of applications or platforms.
- Collaborating with Directors to explain the benefits and justification of investment in proposed architectures, evaluated through BPR, Cost-Benefit Analysis, and component/architectural reuse.
- Acting as an ‘architecture ambassador’ and participating as a member of the Change Advisory Board (CAB).
