Qualifications

Job description

Job Title: Finance Support Assistant
Location: Sleaford (NG34)
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000
Type: Full Time (37.5 hours) Permanent, Hybrid

We are currently looking for a Finance Assistant to join a large organisation based in Sleaford. In this role you will be reviewing all invoices and costs, ensuring that all supplier invoices comply with agreed terms and prices.

You will also identify ways of reducing usage and prices of all products and services. This role is primarily responsible for the expenditure side of all bank reconciliations and ensuring that all suppliers get paid in an efficient and timely manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for everything related to the Purchase Ledger
  • Ensure all accounts processes are followed
  • Handle business expense and petty cash
  • Reconciling and journals
  • Assist in checking trial balances; profit and loss etc.
  • Reviewing suppliers' costs and carry out costs analysis
  • Negotiating prices and implementing new suppliers

Requirements:

  • Studying for AAT, or already qualified
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Good knowledge of Purchase Ledger
  • Negotiating with new and existing suppliers
  • Experience posting journals
  • Ideally experience handling accruals and prepayments
  • Understanding the fixed asset register
  • Knowledge, or exposure to XERO
