You will work closely with experienced project managers and engineers to support the installation and commissioning of process equipment, including pipework, valves, pumps, and instrumentation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a practical engineering background who is eager to develop their skills in a dynamic, hands-on setting.

As a Project Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient construction and commissioning of large-scale process installations. Collaborate closely with experienced professionals on site, gain hands-on experience with process engineering tasks, and contribute to a high-profile project that impacts real-world operations. We value practical problem-solving, teamwork, and a commitment to safety and quality.

What You'll Do

  • Support on-site supervision and construction management activities to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Assist with the installation and commissioning phases of process engineering systems, including valves, pumps, and instrumentation.
  • Conduct walk-downs of P&IDs and support the verification and tagging of mechanical components.
  • Collaborate closely with full-time project managers and contractors to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Help manage permitting, health and safety compliance, and documentation on site.
  • Identify and report any site issues or safety concerns promptly to maintain high standards.
  • Contribute to snagging and quality assurance tasks to support smooth project delivery.
  • Be present on site, ideally five days a week, to provide consistent project support.
  • Adapt responsibilities based on your skills, whether focusing more on supervision, technical checks, or process support.

What Success Looks Like

  • Provide consistent on-site support to the project management team, ensuring smooth daily operations and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Effectively assist with process engineering tasks such as issuing and checking valves, parts, and equipment to support installation and commissioning phases.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail by accurately walking down and verifying P&IDs and other project documentation.
  • Proactively identify and resolve site issues, contributing to timely progress and adherence to project schedules.
  • Support health and safety compliance by monitoring site activities and promoting safe work practices.
  • Adapt responsibilities based on individual strengths, whether supervising site works or managing technical snag lists, to maximize project efficiency.
  • Contribute to a seamless transition into the commissioning phase by providing reliable engineering support and coordination.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience in project engineering within process or construction environments, especially involving mechanical systems such as pipework, valves, pumps, and instrumentation.
  • A good understanding of health and safety practices on construction sites, with NEBOSH or IOSH certification considered a strong advantage.
  • Ability to support site supervision, including walking down P&IDs, assisting with permitting, and helping maintain a safe working environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving and teamwork.
  • Flexibility to work primarily on-site, ideally five days a week, with a willingness to adapt responsibilities based on your skills and experience.
  • A motivated, reliable attitude with a desire to grow and contribute to a dynamic project team.
