A leading engineering firm in East Hagbourne is seeking a Contract Project Engineer for 6-12 months. You will manage project work packages, support planning and scheduling, and ensure compliance with standards. Contract Project Engineer

Duration - 6-12 months rolling

About the Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you’ll take ownership of specific work packages and ensure quality, safety, and design intent are maintained throughout the full project life cycle. You’ll work with a variety of stakeholders including Project Managers, Engineers, and external contractors to drive projects to successful completion.

You’ll gain exposure to exciting large-scale operations and be part of a business that is scaling quickly to meet global demand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and deliver assigned work packages within larger projects.
  • Support the Project Manager with planning, scheduling, cost control, and resource management.
  • Prepare scopes of work, technical documentation, and procurement support.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external contractors, attending and representing the project team in technical meetings.
  • Support projects through all phases including design, construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Maintain compliance with industry standards, legislation, and best practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes and procedures.
To succeed as Project Engineer you are likely to have:
  • A Degree, HNC/HND, or time-served apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline.
  • Experience in a technical environment such as manufacturing, contractor site or similar
  • Ability to read technical drawings and interpret specifications.
  • Knowledge of plant, building, or infrastructure design/construction.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office.
