Job Description

Our client, a leading organisation in the Public Sector, is seeking a dedicated Interim Project Coordinator to support the Senior Management Team (SMT) in managing project coordination activities related to the implementation of new legislation. This is a fixed-term contract for 24 months with the possibility of extension, offering an annual salary between £41,000 and £44,000.

Role Overview: The Project Coordinator will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of various projects. This position requires excellent organisational skills, strong communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The successful candidate will assist in preparing and managing project plans, reporting progress, and facilitating effective communication across teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and manage individual project plans while providing a comprehensive overview of all new legislation projects.
  2. Report project updates to the SMT and Board, including managing spreadsheets, drafting progress reports, and producing visual data presentations.
  3. Administer project meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, and maintaining action logs and minutes of meetings with stakeholders.
  4. Foster effective communication between teams, focusing on co-dependencies and interfaces.
  5. Identify and manage unforeseen issues that may delay projects or impact other streams.
  6. Conduct policy research to support projects and assist in policy impact assessments.
  7. Provide consultation administration, event support, and analyse consultation responses.
  8. Ensure document formatting, proofreading, and version control are maintained.
  9. Offer cross-cover for colleagues as requested and collaborate on policy development and stakeholder engagement.

Essential Criteria:

  1. Highly organised with strong project management and coordination skills.
  2. Proficient in diary management and capable of producing clear, concise written communication.
  3. Strong IT skills, including experience with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  4. Confident verbal communicator who enjoys liaising with others and providing excellent internal customer service.
  5. Exceptional attention to detail and proofreading capabilities.

Desirable Criteria:

  1. Experience in stakeholder engagement and running consultations.
  2. Background in complex project management and coordination.
  3. Familiarity with policy formation and business change/transformation initiatives.
  4. Develop a clear understanding of the role and functions of the company.
