Job description

We are recruiting a senior-level Operations Lead to oversee the operational transition of the Mortgage Enforcement Lender Sales (MELS) team into its new Target Operating Model (TOM). This key role involves working closely with partners and senior leaders across MELS, the Banking and Lender Sales Group, and the wider firm in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in business management, project and change delivery, and transformation leadership within volume businesses. Responsibilities include overseeing multiple workstreams, embedding change, and ensuring operational stability and client service excellence during the transition.

This role is based in Bristol and paid on a day rate via an Umbrella company. We are seeking individuals available to start within two weeks due to the urgency of this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the operational delivery of the MELS transition programme, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and TOM design.
  • Develop and maintain the transition plan and timeline.
  • Identify interim and long-term optimisation strategies.
Business Management & Operational Excellence:
  • Review and design short-term process improvements for a modern volume delivery centre.
  • Identify and plan long-term transformational improvements to enhance processes and procedures for efficiency and productivity.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert, handling enquiries, developing action plans, and supporting communication and engagement strategies.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
  • Act as a liaison between the MELS team, senior leadership, and wider stakeholders.
  • Draft and deliver clear communications and presentations for diverse audiences.
  • Build strong relationships across the firm to enhance responsiveness and operational alignment.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Proven success in a senior business management or operations role, preferably within volume financial services or legal operations.
  • Strong background in project and change management, with experience in large-scale transformation and process optimization.
  • Experience working with executive leadership and managing cross-functional teams in high-volume environments.
Skills & Attributes:
  • Strategic thinker with strong execution skills and a creative problem-solving approach.
  • Excellent understanding of volume business operations and procedures.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills to manage multiple workstreams.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, including fee earners and business services teams.
  • Law firm experience is preferred.
