Job summary

CV Technical is seeking a skilled Contract Maintenance Engineer (Electrical bias) for a food manufacturing site in the DE55 area. The role covers planned and reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and repair on electrical and mechanical systems, and close collaboration with production to keep operations efficient.

The ideal candidate will be time-served or qualified, with strong electrical maintenance experience and a background in manufacturing, and must be able to work permanent night shifts,

Qualifications

• Strong electrical maintenance and fault-finding experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally food manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the production facility.

• Minimise machinery downtime and ensure equipment operates efficiently.
• Complete preventative maintenance and fault-finding activities.
• Work closely with the production team to maintain smooth operations.

Contract Maintenance Engineer - Electrical Bias

Location: DE55

Rate: Up to £40 per hour

Contract: Until the end of 2026

Shift: Permanent nights - Sunday to Thursday, 10pm-6am

Start: ASAP

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Contract Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to join a busy food manufacturing site in the DE55 area.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled maintenance engineer looking for a long-term contract, with the potential for an extension beyond the initial end-of-year period.

The Role:

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the production facility
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults
• Minimise machinery downtime and ensure equipment is operating efficiently
• Complete preventative maintenance and fault-finding activities
• Work closely with the production team to maintain smooth and efficient operations
• Ensure all maintenance work is carried out safely and to a high standard

The Ideal Candidate:

• Time-served or suitably qualified Maintenance Engineer
• Strong electrical maintenance and fault-finding experience
• Previous experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally food manufacturing
• Comfortable working permanent night shifts
• Able to start at short notice
• Strong understanding of health & safety and safe working practices

What's on Offer:

• Up to £40 per hour
• Contract initially running until the end of 2026
• Potential for a longer-term extension
• Permanent night shift pattern: Sunday to Thursday, 10pm-6am
