Job summary

Questech Recruitment Ltd are collaborating with a fast-paced production facility to recruit a Contract - Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical bias). This role is 16 hours per week, with Thursday 06:00–18:00 and Friday 08:00–12:00, paid at £34.00 per hour and starting as soon as possible. The position focuses on PM, breakdowns, and repairs on production lines, with emphasis on safety and timely task execution.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Mechanical Engineering qualification or recognised mechanical apprenticeship.
• Must be multi skilled.
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Proficient written, numerical, and verbal skills.
• Good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Experience with Maintenance Management Systems software.

Responsibilities

• Planned Preventative Maintenance, Breakdowns and repairs of machinery and production lines.
• Ensure planned maintenance is carried out in line with the site schedule; liaising with other departments to minimise operational impact.
• Communicate equipment status and performance to engineering colleagues on a regular basis.
• Ensure all engineering work meets Quality, Safety, Health & Environment policies.
• Document Standard Work & Standard Confirmation reflecting preventive maintenance.

Thursdays - 0600am - 18:00pm

Fridays - 08:00am - 12:00pm

The Person:

• Relevant Level 3 Mechanical Engineering qualification or recognised Mechanical apprenticeship.
• Must be Multi Skilled
• Relevant experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Proficient written, numerical, and verbal skills
• Good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office family of products
• Experience of Maintenance Management Systems & software.

The Role:

• Planned Preventative Maintenance, Breakdowns and repairs of machinery and production Lines.
• Ensure planned maintenance is carried out in line with the site schedule. Liaising with other departments to ensure tasks are completed with little to no impact on operations.
• Communication: Liaise with Engineering colleagues on a regular basis to communicate equipment status, performance against the required schedule.
• Manage Health and Safety: Ensure all engineering work carried out meets the requirements of Quality, Safety, Health & Environment policies & procedures.
• Document Standard Work & Standard Confirmation: Ensure documents are up to date and that reflect the preventive maintenance.

The Rate will be £34.00ph
