Job summary

Line Up Aviation in Portsmouth is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a 6‑month contract with the potential to extend into a permanent role. The position involves designing, setting up and improving production lines using lean principles to boost cell productivity.

The role is based in Portsmouth, hours are Mon-Fri 08:00–16:45, with an hourly PAYE rate of £30–£35 (plus holiday pay). Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK; no sponsorships offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• HNC or equivalent in an Engineering discipline, or recognised time served apprenticeship.
• Six Sigma Green Belt qualification desirable; practical application accepted.

Responsibilities

• Generate 3D CAD models to design manufacturing processes in an industrial plant facility.
• Maximise efficiency by analysing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and workforce utilisation.
• Provide support to manufacturing Cells and drive continuous improvement.
