Job summary

A leading engineering solutions provider in Bloxwich is looking for a Contract Manufacturing Engineer to support the industrialisation of new mechanical products. You will ensure the smooth introduction of new products, writing work instructions, and implementing advanced manufacturing techniques. Ideal candidates have an HNC/D qualification and experience in manufacturing environments, particularly in process development and lean techniques.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a Manufacturing Engineering / Production Engineering role.
  • Familiar with fast-paced manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of New Product Introduction (NPI) / Design for Manufacture (DFM).
  • Experience in writing work instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Support introduction of new products and processes.
  • Write and maintain Work Instructions and Bills of Materials (BoMs).
  • Devising production layouts to maximize efficiency.
  • Identify and implement advanced manufacturing techniques.

We are actively seeking a talented Contract Manufacturing Engineer to contribute their expertise to cutting-edge projects.

Fantastic opportunity for you to utilise your Manufacturing Engineering skills looking at industrialisation and scale up on a mechanical product.

As Manufacturing Engineer / Industrialisation Engineer, you will be supporting the transition of new product, scaling up for volume manufacture, supporting all aspects of design for manufacture (DFM), devising shop floor layouts and ensuring best principal manufacturing is being applied at all stages.

With a background in an mechanical assembly and fabrication environment as Manufacturing Engineer you will:

  • Work closely with Engineering and Research & Development to support the smooth introduction of new products and processes (Process development)
  • Take responsibility for writing and maintaining Work Instructions and BoM's
  • Devising line and production layouts to maximise efficiency & flow.
  • Utilising your lean skills to identify and implement advanced manufacturing techniques / modern manufacturing processes.
  • Capex identifying the need for equipment and tooling

To succeed in this interesting role, you will ideally be HNC/D qualified and have proven experience in a Manufacturing Engineering / Production Engineering capacity with specific knowledge of:

  • Familiar with working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • New Product Introduction (NPI) / Design for Manufacture (DFM)
  • Supporting manufacturing tooling and layouts / routings
  • Mechanical assembly, Sheet metal fabrication, welding process experience
  • Process development.
  • Writing work instructions
  • A hands-on can-do-attitude is vital.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills essential as are first class communication skills. An understanding of lean manufacturing techniques highly advantageous.
