Job Description:

SALARY: £67,337 per annum (12-month FTC)

LOCATION: Albert Road, Bristol

Purpose of the Role:

Lead a large frontline operational team delivering municipal waste collection services, manage operational programs, and ensure compliance with legislation, safety, and contractual KPIs.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead and manage the operational team to meet performance targets.
  2. Ensure compliance with health & safety, environmental, and waste handling legislation.
  3. Prepare and manage budgets, ensuring financial targets are met.
  4. Promote a culture of leadership, continuous improvement, and staff development.
  5. Collaborate across departments for integrated waste solutions.
  6. Develop and review operational policies and procedures.
  7. Build relationships with stakeholders, ensuring excellent customer service.
  8. Lead projects related to service improvement and system implementation.
  9. Oversee winter maintenance activities and gritting operations.
Essential Requirements:
  1. Proven leadership in challenging environments.
  2. Knowledge of waste industry legislation.
  3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  4. Experience in employee relations and organizational change.
  5. Financial and project management skills.
  6. Valid UK driving license.
