Contract Manager Highways Drainage
Location: Glastonbury
Salary: Up to £50,000 + Company Van + Benefits
Our client, one of the fastest growing drainage companies in the UK, is seeking an experienced, proactive, and driven Contract Manager in Somerset. In this pivotal role, you will manage and resource a wide range of operational drainage activities, including gully emptying, reactive jetting, root cutting, CCTV surveys, and traffic management. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated drainage professional to lead a key contract ad drive operational success.
The Role:

  • Overall responsibility for contract delivery, health & safety, and monthly P&L
  • Lead and supervise a small, agile depot team in a flexible and innovative environment
  • Coordinate and plan on-site resources, ensuring safe working practices at all times
  • Manage contract performance, standards, and targets
  • Line management of multiple drainage personnel, handling any performance issues
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Develop, monitor, and manage the works programme and schedule of rates
  • Oversee cost control, monthly applications, and contract pricing
  • Conduct regular site audits with a focus on safety and quality

About You:
  • Proven experience as a Contract Manager or similar role in the drainage or highways industry
  • Strong knowledge of drainage operations and infrastructure
  • Skilled in managing safe working practices
  • CSCS card holder & health and safety qualification (SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely)
  • Excellent team leadership, planning, and client-facing skills
