About Tractebel

TRACTEBEL is a global community of 5000+ imaginative experts, engineering a carbon-neutral future. Through our game-changing solutions for complex energy, urban, nuclear and water projects, we help our clients create a positive impact towards a sustainable world, where people and planet can collectively thrive.

Our UK Mission

You will join the recently created TRACTEBEL entity in the UK, with ambitious goals and exceptional projects. The entity’s mission is to promote TRACTEBEL as a key player in the UK nuclear industry, alongside supporting and working in collaboration with our colleagues across the world.

As well as several prestigious and innovative nuclear research, operation, and decommissioning projects throughout Europe, TRACTEBEL is also contributing to the detailed design of structures on the Nuclear Island at Hinkley Point C (HPC) and Sizewell C (SZC). As well as our flagship projects, TRACTEBEL also has a pipeline of other opportunities in the nuclear industry to feed our expansion in 2024 and 2025.

You will be part of a dynamic, highly motivated and multicultural team. This position is a great opportunity for you to develop your professional and personal skills and contribute to project and bid management for globally recognised projects.

The OPPORTUNITY

As a Contract Manager, you would be involved with the full lifecycle of projects, from the initial development, through to managing the delivery of projects, in collaboration with clients, contractors, stakeholders and our project teams.

The key responsibilities will include a selection of the following points, depending on your experience and the position you take within our team:

  • Drafting, reviewing negotiating and administering contracts throughout the lifecycle of projects, from initial tendering stage and through the project completion.
  • Successfully managing NEC3 / NEC4 Professional Service Contract (PSC) and Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) successfully, including handling claims and variations.
  • Working alongside Project Management teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects, meeting our commercial and contractual
  • obligations.
  • Support the Project Management team to ensure that projects are delivered in accordance with the company’s governance processes.
  • Monitoring, documenting, and reporting on contract progress and performance indicators, particularly within NEC contract frameworks. Familiarity with Contract Management Software such as CEMAR is desirable.
  • Lead and collaborate with our project teams for the development or change, variations and claims.
  • Maintaining, updating and improving contractual records.
  • Identifying and mitigating project commercial and contractual risks.
  • Promoting a contract management culture across the team. Mentoring and training our engineering teams to improve the wider commercial and contractual understanding.
  • Managing commercial relations through effective communication and strong client and stakeholder relationships.

Your Profile

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate would meet the following requirements and criteria:

  • Contract Management experience, preferably for major projects in highly regulated industry, e.g. nuclear.
  • Experience in drafting, negotiating and administering contracts.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of NEC3 / NEC4 contract frameworks is mandatory.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Agile and self-motivated, with a focus on improving personal and team performance.
  • You enjoy new challenges and are keen to learn and willing to take responsibility whilst also wanting to support others within our team.
  • Proficiency in French or Dutch is not mandatory but would be beneficial.
