We are currently recruiting for an experienced Contract Manager on behalf of a respected local authority/social housing provider in South London. This interim role focuses on managing contracts covering responsive repairs, disrepair claims, damp and mould cases, and voids. The successful candidate will have a solid background in social housing maintenance and contractor performance management, with a clear focus on quality, compliance, and resident satisfaction.
Oversee day-to-day delivery of responsive repairs and maintenance contracts
Take the lead on disrepair case management, including liaison with legal teams and surveying staff
Manage damp and mould issues from investigation through to resolution, ensuring timely and appropriate responses
Coordinate the voids programme, ensuring efficient turnaround and compliance with lettable standards
Monitor contractor performance through KPIs, quality inspections, and service reviews
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal departments, external contractors, and residents
Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, housing standards, and relevant regulatory requirements
Prepare reports and contribute to service improvements across the repairs and maintenance function
Substantial experience as a Contract Manager or Repairs Manager within social housing or local government
In-depth understanding of disrepair legislation, damp and mould protocols, and void property management
Proven ability to manage contractors and ensure service delivery against agreed targets and KPIs
Strong organisational and decision-making skills with a hands-on approach
Effective communicator, capable of managing complex stakeholder relationships
Up-to-date knowledge of housing compliance, health and safety regulations, and contract management processes
Relevant qualifications in property, housing, surveying, or construction (desirable but not essential)
