Job summary

TM Green Group in Northampton is seeking a Contracts Manager to lead multiple live groundworks and civil engineering schemes. You will oversee site teams, subcontractors and client relationships, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and within budget across the Northamptonshire region.

This senior role offers long-term progression within a growing contractor, with a strong focus on programme delivery, commercial performance and reporting to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within groundworks or civil engineering.
• Strong leadership and operational management skills.
• Excellent communication and client-facing abilities.
• Solid understanding of construction programmes and sequencing.
• Commercial awareness and ability to manage project performance.
• SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid qualifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Managing multiple groundworks and civil engineering projects simultaneously.
• Leading site teams including Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers and subcontractors.
• Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget.
• Monitoring commercial performance alongside surveying teams.
• Managing client relationships and attending progress meetings.
• Driving programme delivery and resolving operational challenges.
• Overseeing health & safety compliance across all sites.
• Supporting pre-construction and planning activities where required.
• Managing subcontractor performance and operational standards.
• Producing regular progress and performance reports for senior leadership.

The Role:
