INDUSTRIAL ROOFING AND REFURBISHMENT CONTRACTS MANAGER

Job Description

Experienced Contracts Manager required by growing Refurbishment Company specialising in Industrial Roofing.

JDB are a specialist roofing and cladding contractor that provide a complete roofing service for commercial, factory, warehouse, and industrial properties, as well as having substantial experience in the areas of new build, refurbishment, maintenance, and repairs.

The Contract Management role is a critical position within JDB. The job holder will be responsible for working with the Managing Director and internal colleagues, in addition to spearheading the company’s growth with new and existing clients – ensuring that bids and opportunities are translated effectively into profitable projects.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of projects, ensuring that they are run efficiently, profitably, and that all contract conditions are complied with. You must ensure that all work is completed to a high standard and in a safe working manner.

Key Duties:
  1. Recruiting, overseeing and managing subcontractors
  2. Site surveys and measurement
  3. Preparation of Risk and Method statements
  4. Enforcing and monitoring Health & Safety practices and CDM regulations on site
  5. Production of programmes of work
  6. The running of projects at various sites at any one time
  7. Experience of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
  8. Attend contract handovers from estimating
  9. Communicate accurate and timely information to the team
  10. Give accurate project labour costs, materials, and production times
  11. Develop the Contracts department in line with the company growth strategy
  12. Liaising with subcontractors regarding orders for materials, components, plant, and specialist services
  13. To ensure that all specific materials ordered are received on or before their due delivery dates
  14. Full understanding of each project Specification
  15. Monitor quality on each site
  16. Attendance of regular site meetings with Client, Architect, Quantity Surveyor, Planning Supervisor, etc.
  17. Research new best value suppliers/sub-contractors
  18. Site qualifications to include CSCS and SMSTS
  19. Strong background in refurbishment, metal cladding, composite, single-ply, asbestos awareness
