Job summary

Harvey John Recruitment is seeking a Contract Management Accountant for an initial 2-3 month assignment in Newhaven, East Sussex. The role is hands-on, reporting to the Head of Finance during a system implementation and offering scope to influence processes.

The successful candidate will support month-end activities, produce analysis, and adapt to evolving priorities in a small, collaborative finance team.

Qualifications

• Strong Excel skills essential.
• Experience in month-end and reporting is advantageous.
• Flexible to work in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Able to communicate confidently and work autonomously.
• Available at short notice for immediate or near-immediate start.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head of Finance during the system implementation, with scope to contribute to process mapping, testing and data migration.
• Manage month-end management accounts, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support to the wider business, leveraging strong Excel skills.
• Collaborate with a small team, adopting a flexible, roll-up-your-sleeves approach.
