Job description

Job Title: Contract Litigation Lawyer
Location: Bristol (Hybrid Working)
Salary Range: £40,000 to £55,000 + Benefits
Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Role Overview & Daily Responsibilities:

  • Act for clients in consumer contract disputes (including new build and misrepresentation) and professional negligence claims
  • Manage the full lifecycle of claims, from initial assessment through to final hearing and enforcement, across fast, intermediate, and multi-track cases
  • Provide accurate, clear legal advice, managing client expectations and explaining decisions and procedural steps clearly and succinctly
  • Ensure fair treatment of clients at all stages of the process
  • Take all reasonable steps to settle claims efficiently and recover legal costs
  • Accurately record time spent and maintain up-to-date system records
  • Identify personal and team learning and development needs and opportunities
  • Contribute to the strategic development of departmental best practice, product performance, and customer experience through continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participate in and contribute to idea generation and implementation, in a supportive environment where innovation is encouraged
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members, including reviewing correspondence and court documents, conducting weekly file reviews, and supporting professional development

  • Previous exposure to consumer contract, and professional negligence
  • Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX) - with 3+ years PQE ideally
  • Proven ability to manage your own caseload independently
