Job description

Contract Lean Manufacturing Engineer

Duration: 6 month rolling contract

Start Date: Immediate start available

This is a contract opportunity for a talented Manufacturing Engineer with a passion for lean and Continuous Improvement, based at our manufacturing facility supporting key projects.

Due to ongoing success, we are seeking a Lean Manufacturing Engineer to play a pivotal role in supporting manufacturing operations.

The focus of this position is on lean and continuous improvements to increase production output across mechanical processes, machining, fabrication, assembly, and manufacturing operations.

There is significant opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer with a background in lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvements to make a tangible difference within manufacturing.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Utilizing technical expertise to identify areas for change and implementing initiatives successfully.
  2. Standardizing work instructions, reducing changeover times, and simplifying component assembly.
  3. Identifying cost-saving opportunities and bottlenecks to reduce cycle times and improve overall effectiveness using Continuous Improvement and Lean Six Sigma tools.
  4. Collaborating with manufacturing teams to optimize production lines and simplify assembly and manufacturing processes.
  5. Promoting and supporting Lean Six Sigma methodologies, including tools like FMEA, and facilitating continuous improvement activities.

Ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in Production or Manufacturing Engineering within a mechanical or assembly manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of lean tools and initiatives such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, DFM, SPC, 5S, FMEA.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as medical, automotive, aerospace, or similar.

This role is INSIDE IR35, PAYE.
