Job summary

Inspired Thinking Group Limited, operating in Birmingham, is seeking an experienced Backend Java Developer to work across monolithic and microservices architectures within our fast-paced development teams. You will contribute to some of our most critical software applications, collaborating closely with BAs, PMs and QAs in an Agile Scrum environment.

Using Java, Spring MVC/Boot, RESTful services, and databases like MongoDB and MySQL, you will estimate effort, define strategy, produce clean code,

Qualifications

• Proven Java development experience across monolithic and microservices architectures.
• Experience delivering multiple projects successfully.
• Knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Strong understanding of Agile development principles.
• Familiarity with an MVC framework (preferably Spring MVC).
• Proficient with Git version control.

Responsibilities

• Develop complex Java code for monolithic and microservices deployments.
• Estimate development effort on projects.
• Define and execute the development strategy.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure quality standards.
• Collaborate with BAs, PMs and QAs in an Agile Scrum environment.
• Produce well-documented, clean code.
• Provide recommendations on development approaches to address critical business requirements.

• Working with ourbar raisingdevelopment teamcomprised of like-minded professionals who find solutions to complex problems
• Develop complex Java code, working with both monolithic and microservices architecture
• Be responsible for estimating development effort on projects
• Help define and execute the development strategy
• Conduct code reviews to ensure quality standards are upheld
• Work alongside Business Analysts, Project Managers and QAs in an Agile Scrum environment
• Utilising TDD and working on Java projects built with Spring MVC/Boot, Thymeleaf, RESTful, MongoDB, MySQL, Junit and others
• Produce well documented, clean code
• Provide recommendations on development approaches to address critical business requirements

Requirements

• You'll be coding on a daily basis, naturally
• Demonstrable Java Development experience, across both monolithic and microservices architecture
• Proven ability to deliver multiple projects
• Knowledge of Test-Driven Development
• Strong knowledge of software development practices, processes, and theories, especially around Agile Development Principles
• Knowledge of at least one MVC Web development framework (preferably Spring MVC)
