Job summary

Ex-Mil Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Lead Engineer/Infrastructure Supervisor for a 6-8 month contract in Guildford. The role focuses on leading structured cabling and network infrastructure installations, with hands-on involvement as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a strong military communications background, experience supervising teams on live projects, and eligibility for UK security clearance. The role runs Monday to Friday with a 07:30-16:30 schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience with structured cabling and physical infrastructure installation.
• Proven experience supervising engineering teams on live projects.
• Ability to produce technical documentation and site reports.
• Experience working in regulated or secure environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise structured cabling installation teams.
• Oversee copper and fibre installation, testing and commissioning.
• Coordinate subcontractors and engineering resources.
• Act as the main point of contact between engineers, project management and the customer.
• Conduct toolbox talks, site inspections and quality audits.
• Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety legislation and project standards.
• Produce site documentation including RAMS and survey reports.
• Support fault finding, moves, adds and changes (MACs) and project completion activities.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely on time and to the required quality standards.
