Job summary

The Emerald Group in London is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of assigned projects within a Change & Transformation context, covering the full lifecycle from requirements through design, testing and implementation, with matrixed resources and strong governance.

You will guide cross-functional teams across Business and IT, manage budgets, risks, dependencies and timelines, influence senior stakeholders and third-party suppliers, and deliver regulatory or transformation

• 10+ years of proven project management experience in Business Change and IT projects.

Job description

The Senior Project Manager will have overall responsibility for managing the delivery of assigned projects including matrix management of resources supporting said projects. This includes all stages of the project life cycle from requirements, vendor selection, design, testing and implementation to ensure successful delivery.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Senior PM role within a Change Team, delivering large and complex business change and IT projects.
• Own the full project lifecycle, from requirements and business case through to design, testing and implementation.
• Lead cross-functional teams across Business, IT, Architecture and Change.
• Manage governance, budgets, risks, issues, dependencies and timelines.
• Manage and influence senior/C-suite stakeholders and third-party suppliers.
• Experience delivering regulatory, transformation and business change projects.
• Insurance / Lloyd’s / London Market experience highly desirable, ideally with knowledge of controls such as Solvency II.
• Confident, structured and hands-on PM comfortable managing multiple priorities in a complex environment.
• Define project scope, objectives and deliverables aligned with business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
• Develop and maintain a detailed project plan including the critical path, milestones, phase gates, dependencies, resourcing, task breakdown, durations and schedules
• Identify and estimate the resources required to achieve project objectives
• Work with the Resourcing Manager to identify and acquire the required project personnel from within the company or determine and assess the need for additional staff and/or consultant
• Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
• 10+ years of proven and progressive project management experience in Business Change and IT projects related to the delivery of new solutions and regulatory projects
• PRINCE2, PMP or MSP qualification preferred.
• Proven experience of delivering large, complex projects to time, cost and quality and multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience in leading cross-functional teams including Technical IT, Architecture, Change and Business functions
• Experience of developing strong working relationships with stakeholders and SMEs including C-Suite
• Demonstrable experience of managing 3rd party vendors
• Insurance experience and in particular Lloyd’s/London market experience is desirable including insurance associated controls (e.g., Solvency II)
• Experience of delivering projects with Global reach
• Formal project management qualification in a recognised methodology
