Job summary

Orion Electrotech in Wolverhampton is recruiting an Indirect Buyer on a 6-12 month contract to support site-wide procurement across production equipment, facilities and consumables.

The role requires purchasing experience in manufacturing, strong negotiation skills, and working knowledge of SAP/MRP/ERP systems; responsibilities include sourcing, supplier onboarding and tender support.

Qualifications

• Purchasing/procurement experience, preferably in manufacturing.

• Experience in indirect purchasing and supplier management.

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Buyer with shop floor equipment purchasing.
• Source and purchase site consumables and facilities-related items.
• Negotiate with suppliers to meet targets and cost savings.
• Assist in identifying new suppliers and monitor performance.

Job Title: CONTRACT INDIRECT BUYER

INDIRECT BUYER

6-12 months contract

Immediate start available

Site based, Mondy – Friday, early finish Friday

Fantastic opportunity to join a world-class business in a diverse indirect purchasing role supporting site-wide procurement.

You will work for this innovative manufacturer to support some of their key projects as well as support driving the best price for day-to-day consumables across all areas of the business.

As such, it will be a varied project focussed Purchasing / Indirect Buyers role with responsibility for indirect purchasing within manufacture supporting the Supply Chain teamto procure production equipment, machinery through to facilities, consumable, stationary to car leasing agreements.

Key accountabilities for indirect Buyer will include:

• Supporting the Lead Buyer to purchasing shop floor equipment and machinery as required
• Sourcing and purchasing all site consumables encompassing stationary, mobiles through to car leasing arrangements
• Negotiation with suppliers and ensuring targets are met
• Assisting with the identification of new suppliers and monitoring their ongoing performance
• Support the tender process

To succeed in this interesting Buyer’s role, you will need some previous purchasing/procurement experience ideally in a production/manufacturing environment (although not essential) with broad-based in-direct purchasing experience, ideally covering machinery, facilities to consumables.

A working knowledge of SAP / MRP / ERP systems and negotiation skills are required. SAP highly desirable.

The role will be INSIDE IR35 PAYE
