Job summary

Orion Electrotech is seeking a Contract Engineering Buyer to support production purchasing on a contract basis. The role involves procuring mechanical/electro-mechanical components and assemblies, ensuring cost efficiency and on-time delivery for day-to-day items.

You will work with SAP/MRP/ERP systems, place POs, monitor supplier performance, and assist the Lead Buyer on shop floor needs. Immediate start available in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a production/manufacturing environment with direct purchasing.
• Experience across mechanical or electro-mechanical or electrical commodities.
• Knowledge of SAP/ERP systems and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Buyer in purchasing shop floor items.
• Place purchase orders for defined suppliers using SAP/MRP/ERP.
• Ensure lowest overall cost of acquisition.
• Ensure on-time deliveries and expedite as needed.

CONTRACT ENGINEERING BUYER

Contract, Immediate start available

Innovative manufacturer is looking for a talented contract Buyer to support key projects.

It will be a varied Purchasing role with responsibility for direct purchasing within manufacture supporting the team to procure day to day items across a mechanical/electromechanical commodity range for production, from mechanical components / assemblies including machined and fabricated items through to cables and indirect items.

Key accountabilities for contract Buyer will include:

• Supporting the Lead Buyer to purchasing shop floor items
• Placing purchase orders for a defined range of suppliers, using the SAP / MRP / ERP system
• Ensure lowest overall cost of acquisition.
• Ensure suppliers deliver product to agreed delivery dates. Expedite urgent requests as necessary.
• Monitor supplier performance

To succeed in this interesting Buyer's role, you will need:

• Previous purchasing / procurement experience in a production / manufacturing environment with broad based direct purchasing experience, ideally covering mechanical or electro-mechanical or electrical commodities or indirect.
• A working knowledge of SAP / MRP / ERP systems and negotiation skills required (SAP ideal)
• Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills – pivot tables, formulas etc
