At Honda, we embrace inclusion in our policies. While our contracts specify a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility regarding working hours. Regular office hours are 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half-hour lunch, and 08:00 – 13:00 on Friday. We also offer daily flex-time between 07:00 and 11:00, subject to business needs. Although working from home isn't contractual, you may request to work from home 2 days per week, depending on business requirements.

Role

The HME Finance Operations team manages transactional finance across Europe. Working closely with FP&A, Group Finance, and the Shared Service Centre, this role is integral to the Finance operations team.

Responsible for key Record to Report (R2R) activities ensuring timely and accurate month-end close. The role involves process improvements and partnering with the business to provide high-quality financial data efficiently.

Ideal for a qualified accountant eager to add value and drive process improvements in a dynamic European finance team.

Reporting to the R2R Department Manager, the successful candidate should adapt to ongoing restructuring and new software implementations.

Main Responsibilities
Accounting Close
  • Manage month-end timetables and communicate deadlines clearly.
  • Ensure revenue recognition under IFRS 15 is accurate.
  • Report COGS, Inventory, and Transfer Pricing accurately with quality checks.
  • Report after-sales provisions aligned with latest guidance.
  • Ensure lease accounting compliance under IFRS16.
  • Report and close sub-ledgers timely.
  • Approve manual entries and review balance sheet activities.
  • Complete process improvements and support FP&A reports.
Functional Transition Support
  • Assist in transitioning R2R activities within HME & HME-UK.
  • Coordinate with finance teams for process review and planning.
Management of Shared Service Centre
  • Supervise SSC teams for accurate month-end input.
  • Monitor KPIs and drive process improvements.
Process Support and Improvement
  • Drive issue resolution and process enhancements.
  • Contribute to European finance improvement initiatives.
Data Quality
  • Enhance data quality for reporting and processes.
  • Act as SME for system change impacts.
Governance and Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with frameworks like SOX.
  • Support audit processes and address future change impacts.
Relationship Management
  • Collaborate with stakeholders as a finance process expert.
Team Management
  • Manage R2R specialists, set objectives, and mentor.
Minimum Requirements
  • Qualified accountant with experience in financial control and IFRS.
  • Experience managing finance shared services and working in multicultural European environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong prioritization skills.
  • Management experience in high-performing teams.
  • Knowledge of audit, risk, and compliance.
  • System experience with Trintech Cadency, Hyperion, SAP, S4Hana, Fiori, BOFC, Power BI is advantageous.
