Job summary

Yolk Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Contract Development Engineer for a 12-month assignment in South Wales, on-site with rate dependent on experience. You will validate mechanical components, interpret drawings (GD&T), and produce detailed reports.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience in development, validation or test of mechanical components.

Responsibilities

• Support development and validation of mechanical components and assemblies.
• Interpret drawings including GD&T and assess fit, function and tolerance.
• Define test requirements and coordinate validation activities with the test team.
• Review data and reports to confirm components perform as intended.
• Investigate failures and wear in tested parts and assemblies.
• Strip down components to identify failure points for further analysis.
• Feed findings into engineering decisions on dimensions, materials and performance.
• Produce clear technical reports for internal and customer reporting.
• Collaborate with design, test and materials teams throughout development.
