Nasstar is seeking an experienced Contract Principal Data Engineer to support complex client engagements across Data & AI transformation programmes. This is a highly client-facing consultancy role with remote UK engagement.

You will lead Databricks architecture, guide delivery teams, and collaborate with stakeholders to shape platform strategy, governance and scalable data platforms across Azure and AWS.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Principal Data Engineer/Lead Data Engineer/Data Architect in enterprise environments.
• Strong consultancy and client-facing capabilities.
• Deep Databricks expertise including architecture and leading delivery teams.
• Cloud-native data platforms on Azure and/or AWS.
• Advanced PySpark and SparkSQL with large-scale processing.
• Modern data architecture, ETL/ELT, and data modelling knowledge.
• Excellent SQL skills with large datasets.
• Data governance, security and platform reliability understanding.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to operate in fast-paced delivery environments.
