Job summary

Synergem Recruitment Limited and a Leeds-based business are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join a busy finance team. The role is hands-on with responsibility for an own portfolio and close liaison with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure prompt payments.

The position is initially a temporary ongoing assignment, with potential to become permanent for the right candidate. A proactive approach to debt collection and strong Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in credit control or accounts receivable.
• Able to manage workload and communicate confidently.
• Proficient with Excel and finance systems.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of a portfolio of customer accounts.
• Proactively contact customers regarding overdue balances.
• Build effective relationships to support timely payment.
• Investigate and resolve invoice and account queries.
• Allocate incoming payments and maintain accurate customer accounts.
• Complete account reconciliations where required.
• Issue statements and payment reminders.
• Support the wider finance function with additional duties when required.
