Job summary

KHR is collaborating with a leading global business to hire an Assistant Accountant in Snodland, Kent. The role supports the Financial Controller, contributes to monthly accounts, and offers cover for other departments.

The position involves budgets, forecasts, SAP GL journals, and intercompany reconciliations, with opportunities to progress to full membership with accountancy bodies.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
• Part/Fully Qualified Accountant (AAT/ACCA/CIMA).
• Analytical skills and attention to detail essential.
• SAP and Microsoft Office proficiency required.
• Proactive problem-solver with a hands-on approach.
• Adaptable and committed to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Budget and forecasts: contribute to annual budgets and monthly forecasts with input from other departments.
• Monitor capital expenditure: cost tracking, cash flow forecasts, variance analysis and project compliance.
• Prepare reports and key performance indicators as required.
• Prepare and input journals to the SAP GL with audit trail.
• Process non-stock invoices and ensure timely processing per authority.
• Prepare reconciliations for control accounts and interfaces.
• Assist with production and stock systems; resolve issues.
• Liaise with intercompany customers and suppliers to reconcile balances monthly.
• Study and complete exams for main accountancy bodies; pursue full membership.
• Provide cover and support to other departmental functions as needed.
