Job description

We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Continuous Water Quality Monitoring (CWQM) team, responsible for data delivery, management, collection, interpretation, visualization, and communication of insights related to CWQM.

What you’ll be doing as a Continuous Water Quality Monitoring (CWQM) Senior Data Analyst
  • Analyze and interpret complex, multiparameter river water quality data alongside asset and catchment data.
  • Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) understanding and communicating the environmental impact of wastewater discharges using CWQM data and measuring impact against standards.
  • Perform daily CWQM data checks, assess data quality, trends, and events.
  • Raise pollution concerns appropriately within the team and broader business.
  • Create detailed scientific reports supporting investigations and demonstrating impact of initiatives.
  • Promote the internal understanding of the water quality program and ensure data clarity.
  • Conduct knowledge share sessions and present findings via presentations and workshops.
  • Collaborate with the Environmental Engagement team and support catchment partnership meetings technically as an SME.

Role Requirements

Valid UK driving license or willingness to travel.

Desired Skills and Qualifications
  • Field experience in water quality monitoring, sampling, or equipment installation.
  • Experience in scientific report writing related to water quality.
  • Extensive experience in river water quality data analysis and interpretation.
  • Technical background in water quality monitoring.
  • Experience handling large datasets and report writing.
  • Strong communication skills with confidence to present to stakeholders.
  • Degree in Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Regulatory experience in river water quality and pollution incidents (desirable).
  • People management experience (desirable).
Benefits
  • Salary from £55,000 to £65,000 per year, depending on experience.
  • 26 days annual leave, increasing to 30 with service, plus bank holidays.
