Job summary

Babcock International is seeking a Continuous Improvement Specialist in Rosyth, Scotland to lead Lean initiatives and drive operational excellence across Marine operations. You will coach teams in problem-solving, implement practical improvements, and help embed a culture of continuous improvement and safety.

You will collaborate with production, engineering, quality, planning and safety teams to deliver measurable performance gains, supported by data analytics and Lean tools.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering continuous improvement, operational excellence, business improvement or transformation initiatives.
• Proven ability to identify root causes, solve problems and implement practical solutions that deliver measurable results.
• Experience applying Lean methodologies and tools such as 5S, Kaizen, PDCA, Visual Management or Standard Work.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across levels.
• Experience using data, performance metrics and operational insight to prioritise improvement activities and track outcomes.

The role

As a Continuous Improvement Specialist, you'll play a key role in improving safety, quality, delivery performance and cost efficiency across the business. Working closely with operational teams, you'll lead continuous improvement initiatives, coach colleagues in Lean methodologies, and help embed a culture where innovation and problem-solving are part of everyday working life. This is a highly visible role that offers the opportunity to influence change, develop your expertise, and deliver measurable business improvements that have a lasting impact.

Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:

• Facilitating Lean improvement workshops and driving operational excellence initiatives across multiple business areas.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week, based at Rosyth. Hybrid working patterns are available.

Essential experience of the Continuous Improvement Specialist:

• Experience delivering continuous improvement, operational excellence, business improvement, process improvement or transformation initiatives.
• Proven ability to identify root causes, solve problems and implement practical solutions that deliver measurable results.
• Experience applying Lean methodologies and tools such as 5S, Kaizen, PDCA, Visual Management or Standard Work.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to engage colleagues at all levels.
• Experience using data, performance metrics and operational insight to prioritise improvement activities and track outcomes.

Qualifications for the Continuous Improvement Specialist:

Relevant qualifications or certifications in Lean, Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence or Business Improvement would be advantageous.
