The role

As a Continuous Improvement Specialist, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Play a key role within project teams, leading learning initiatives to enhance maintenance planning and performance. Collaborate with stakeholders and engineers to drive improvements through technical insight, data analysis, and streamlined processes.

Day-to-day, you’ll build and maintain strong working relationships across Babcock and customer teams. Lead a coordinated, company-wide approach to capturing, analysing, and applying lessons learned to improve future maintenance planning and delivery.

  • Embedded within project teams to support delivery and continuous improvement
  • Manage relationships with senior stakeholders, including customer project leads
  • Engage with engineering teams on submarine-related technical issues
  • Drive business process improvements across office-based functions
  • Balance technical tasks with people-focused and data-driven responsibilities

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.

Essential experience of the Continuous Improvement Specialist

  • Identify and support improvements in maintenance planning
  • Maintain and update lessons learned data accurately and efficiently
  • Produce clear, timely reports to track progress and insights
  • Respond to enquiries with professionalism and strong customer focus
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders across the organisation

Qualifications for the Continuous Improvement Specialist

  • HNC/HND in engineering or a related discipline
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in mechanical engineering
