Annual salary: up to £40,537.99

Continuous Improvement Manager (Repairs Manager)

Location: Cardiff

Salary: up to £40,537.99 per annum plus car allowance

Contract: Permanent, Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Celtic Horizons was the first wholly owned subsidiary of its kind formed by United Welsh, which has entered into a partnership with Mears Group. Celtic Horizons cares for over 6,500 properties across 11 local authority areas in South Wales.

About the Role:

As a Continuous Improvement Manager within our Caerphilly branch, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of our responsive repair service in Cardiff. You will ensure all Key Performance Indicators are met and drive innovation and continuous improvement within your areas of responsibility. The role includes oversight of operatives and subcontractors.

  1. Monitor and control all work within a geographical or property type contract area, undertaking pre- and post-inspections as required.
  2. Mentor operatives and trainees, ensuring all Health & Safety guidelines are followed.
  3. Monitor progress and completion of works from operatives and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with contract requirements.
  4. Manage the use of operatives and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to company standards of work performance, customer service, and health and safety procedures.
  5. Maximise contract performance against KPIs, minimise default notices and penalties, and ensure high customer service standards to achieve contract value.
Role Criteria:
  • Experience working in social housing.
  • Experience supervising operatives and subcontractors.
  • Knowledge of repairs and maintenance.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • People management skills.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Trade, management, or health and safety qualification (desirable).

Additional Information: All roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work in the UK. Mears currently does not offer visa sponsorship. All roles are subject to DBS/security checks. To drive a Mears vehicle, candidates must be over 21, have held their license for over 3 months, and have less than 9 points.
