Job summary

Culina Group Limited is seeking an experienced Continuous Improvement Manager to lead and deliver impactful improvement initiatives across the business. You will identify opportunities and drive changes that improve cost, quality, service, engagement and safety, through structured problem-solving and lean methodologies.

You will facilitate workshops, manage 1-2 medium to large projects, ensure governance, benefits tracking, and training. A strong background in logistics CI is preferred.

Culina Group Limited, through its subsidiaries, provides logistics, warehousing, distribution, and other services for the food and drink industry in United Kingdom and Ireland. It provides chilled, ambient, contract packaging, and bonded logistics services, as well as value-added services, such as online visibility and systems integration, pallet management, and supply chain management.


Role Overview


We are looking for an experienced and driven Continuous Improvement Manager to lead and deliver impactful improvement initiative across the business. You will play a key role in identifying opportunities and delivering change that drives measurable improvements in cost, quality, service, engagement, and safety.


Key Responsibilities



  • Identify and deliver important opportunities across health & safety, quality, cost, and service using diagnostic tools, lean methodologies, and structured problem-solving.

  • Facilitate workshops to support Continuous Improvement and project delivery, including requirements gathering, process mapping (current and future state), root cause analysis, and solution design.

  • Lead the delivery of 1-2 medium to large projects, ensuring structured planning, execution, and governance.

  • Support project governance by defining and implementing best practices across planning, resource management, risk and issue management, change control, cost management, and benefit tracking.

  • Manage and/or support project budgets, risks, issues, and changes to ensure successful delivery.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the business, ensuring effective communication and centralised reporting of al CI and project activity.

  • Ensure structured project closure, including lessons learned and effective handover.

  • Deliver training and coaching in Continuous Improvement tools, project management methodologies, and change management practices.

  • Support the development of business cases and funding applications.

  • Track and validate benefits realised from improvement initiatives, working closely with Finance and CI teams.

  • Support data collection and analysis for diagnostics, solution design, and benefit tracking.

  • Drive colleague engagement throughout the change lifecycle, embedding sustainable practices such as visual management and workplace audits.

  • Lead, motivate, and support delivery teams to achieve project outcomes.

  • Promote and share best practices in Continuous Improvement, operations, and project management across the organisation.

  • Skilled in Lean tools and CI methodologies, with a practical approach to problem-solving.

  • Ability to drive cultural change by engaging and motivating colleagues and securing leadership sponsorship.

  • Strong organisational skills with a focus on governance, planning, and execution excellence.

  • Confidence in facilitating workshops and coaching others, building CI capability across the business.

  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to measure, track, and realise benefits.

  • Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to navigate change and ambiguity.

  • Passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.


Essential Requirements



  • 3-5 years' experience in project management and continuous improvement within a logistics environment, with a strong understanding of best practice tools and techniques.

  • Formal project management qualifications (e.g. PRINCE2, APM or equivalent).

  • Proven experience of Continuous Improvement methodologies such as Lean and/or Six Sigma.

  • Demonstrable track record of delivering both tangible and intangible business benefits.

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail; able to take a structured and methodical approach to problem-solving.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at both team level and senior stakeholder level.

  • Strong facilitation and coaching skills, with experience leading workshops and driving engagement.

  • Ability to set clear objectives and manage delivery against them.

  • Collaborative, assertive, and resilient with the ability to influence and challenge where appropriate.

  • High level of commercial awareness and understanding of business drivers.


Desirable



  • Knowledge of the chilled logistics or long-life supply chain sector.

  • Experience delivering change within a transport and/or operational logistics environment, as well as office-based (transactional) settings.

  • Additional Continuous Improvement certifications (e.g. Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt).
