Job summary

Jaguar Land Rover in Wolverhampton is seeking a Continuous Improvement Maintenance Technician to join our Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre. You will collaborate with machining teams to drive lean improvements, enhance safety, quality and productivity, and implement sustainable fixes on the shop floor.

Qualifications

  • NVQ/BTEC Level 3 or apprenticeship in engineering/manufacturing
  • Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement, process engineering or maintenance in a manufacturing environment
  • Applying lean manufacturing principles to deliver measurable results
  • Analysing operational data to support decision-making and improvements
  • Building relationships and communicating across all levels of the organization

Responsibilities

  • Identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives across safety, quality, delivery, cost and productivity.
  • Apply structured root cause analysis to eliminate recurring manufacturing issues and sustain improvements.
  • Analyse production and maintenance data to uncover trends and support performance improvements.
  • Lead improvement projects, equipment modifications, and process trials across the machining facility.
  • Coach colleagues in continuous improvement tools and lean manufacturing to foster ownership and growth.

In the Manufacturing team at JLR's Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre (EPMC), you'll help power iconic electric cars. You will be working alongside incredible technicians and leaders to drive our commitment to shape a future we truly believe in, together. As a Continuous Improvement Maintenance Technician, you'll play a key role in helping our machining facility continuously improve how we work. Partnering with teams across Block, Head, Crank and EDU machining operations, you'll identify opportunities, solve complex challenges and deliver meaningful improvements.   • Leading and supporting improvement projects, equipment modifications, process trials and implementation activities across the machining facility
  • Coaching and engaging colleagues in continuous improvement tools and lean manufacturing principles, helping to build a culture of ownership and continuous growth
WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills and experiences you'll need to help you succeed here, including:

  • Holding an NVQ/BTEC Level 3, completed apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification in an engineering, manufacturing or technical discipline
  • Demonstrating experience within continuous improvement, process engineering, maintenance or a similar technical role in a manufacturing environment
  • Applying structured problem‑solving methodologies and lean manufacturing principles to deliver measurable results
  • Analysing operational performance data and using insights to support effective decision‑making and improvement activity
  • Building strong relationships, influencing stakeholders and communicating effectively across all levels of the organisation
